PhD Opportunities
iC3 offers a friendly and supportive working environment to early career researchers and masters students who are passionate about polar science
We are currently inviting applications for a fully funded PhD to investigate the influence of sea ice, glaciers and ice sheets on phytoplankton and zooplankton communities in Svalbard and the Southern Ocean. Deadline 31 May 2024. Apply here.
We also welcome enquiries from exceptional masters graduates who want to pursue a self-funded PhD with iC3. Please email the researcher you would like to act as your supervisor to discuss further.
We actively help our PhD students to gain new skills, secure grant funding, get their research published, and build their professional networks.
Please subscribe to our email updates and follow us on social media to keep up to date on future opportunities to join our friendly interdisciplinary team in the Arctic.
“Living in Tromsø means we’re blessed with spectacular nature on all sides. During midnight sun season you can sail or kayak out to sea and watch the sun circle endlessly overhead. Or if you’d rather stay on land there’s an infinite number of trails to explore, and white sandy beaches for Arctic swimming – although you may have to share them with the reindeer!”
